The Room Changes What You Can See
On the river, you learn quickly that the person in the raft who controls the rudder is not the only one responsible for seeing the line. Everyone has a paddle. Someone hears the guide and repeats the cadence so the stroke does not fall apart. Someone sees the rock. Someone steadies. Someone freezes. Someone calls out what the person in front cannot see. Pattern recognition is too important to see alone.
